2026 MS Awareness Campaign A Success

Our annual MS Awareness Week has been effective at raising awareness about MS while raising funds to support the vital free mobile service that we provide to our MS families around greater Wellington.

We thank you all and your supporters for generously giving your time and donations to support this important mahi.

Our website experienced almost 40% more hits last month than usual.

We've just banked last donations and have reached an amazing total of $12,135. Thanks once again for your support. We couldn't do it without you!

If you haven't donated yet then we will be grateful for any contribution you can spare to our fabulous service using the link below.

A New Car for Our Community Advisors

WMS President Steve McCloskey hands over the keys to the new car to Maria Luisa Suarez

We've finally taken ownership of a badly needed new car for our Community Advisor Maria Luisa Suarez to use while she's out and about supporting PwMS in greater Wellington.

Our old Kia was 14 years old and rising maintainence costs meant it was becoming increasingly less-economic to run.

Our grateful thanks to the organisations that granted funding: Pub Charity Ltd, Aotearoa Gaming Trust, Dorothy Hamilton Memorial Trust and Kapiti Masons.

WMS Community Fundraiser, The Empire Petone

We've been wanting to hold an event where our WMS Community can mix, mingle and socialise for a while and found this opportunity just in time for an end of the year get-together.

The event will be held in The Empire's large accessible heated and enclosed patio area. There is some first-come parking behind the pub and plenty of free spaces in the council's Peel carpark directly behind. Even better, the parking will be free at the time of our booking!

You're welcome to join us for a self-funded meal followed by a pub quiz fundraiser, raffles and other activities. If you can't come on the night it's possible for individuals and teams to join remotely, so do get in touch so we can work something out. Full details will be available on our website shortly.

Recent Funders

In addition to the organisations who funded our new car we'd also like to say a big thank you to the following organisations that have granted us funding:

  • The Jack Jeffs Charitable Trust
  • COGS Wairarapa, COGS Hutt Valley and COGS Wellington
  • Upper Hutt City Council

We also received $500 for supporting Bangers to Bluff earlier this year.

A Gift That Keeps On Giving

Because we rely on generous donations to continue to operate the Community Advisory Service it's important that we can count on a constant, regular source of income - it helps us budget, and also makes giving easier for you!

Once you’ve set up an automatic payment or payroll giving, we’ll make sure you receive an annual receipt so that you can claim your tax rebate.

You can find out more and learn about other ways to support our work including through a gift in your will through the link below.
