#6-2022 Community Advisor News

3 February 2022

Kia ora koutou,

I hope you are all keeping safe and well during this difficult time.

Preparation

With community cases in the greater Wellington region and the further spread of Omicron looming, the Ministry of Health is ramping up messaging around individual and household resilience and preparedness. Knowing who you can call and having supplies in the home can make isolating and recovering safer and less stressful.  We have included some useful and practical tools to help you prepare, and the most up to date information can be found here Advice for people with COVID-19 | Ministry of Health NZ

In addition to the above information, The Disability team has shared some important information on what to do to stay safe when isolating and what to expect from COVID-19, and other useful links to sites and resources.

You can read their latest panui here, and you are welcome to subscribe to receive it directly https://mailchi.mp/4d8eda044158/news-from-the-3dhb-disability-team-10708412?e=bfc098e76b

The Ministry of Health have advised that health and social services will be focused on people who test positive for Covid who have high needs.  This includes people with disabilities and other existing health conditions.  MOH are developing tools for practitioners and public health teams to be able to identify those at risk.  When we hear/see more we will let you know.

Next week we will email a general “News from your Community Advisor” but wanted you to have this info first.
