SPOTLIGHT ON: MS Chair Yoga – Live on Zoom
Every Thursday morning during the school term, a small group of dedicated participants comes together online to use movement, relaxation, and connection as medicine. For over 10 years now, this Chair Yoga class - led by the ever-supportive Diane - has been a consistent source of strength and community.
Originally held in person, the class now meets on Zoom, offering accessible participation from the comfort of home. While the format has evolved, its core remains the same: a welcoming, supportive space that promotes physical well-being, emotional connection, and a lot of laughter.
The class is designed especially for mature adults, including those with limited mobility. Some participants are fully chair-bound, while others are able to stand. The first hour focuses on gentle, chair-based movement, with just five minutes of optional standing poses. Seated participants are guided through variations that work for them.
In the final 30 minutes, the class transforms into a social catch-up. It's a space for conversation, support, and laughter. This term, the group has even been exploring laughter yoga, adding playfulness and joy into their weekly routine.
